Doctor Angelicus

...Aquinas' Latin title sure sounds like a Comic Book character, huh? Some benign mad scientist, or something?

That was his teacher, though, Albertus Magnus. Anyway, the Angelic Doctor has given me a quote that, had I not already decided how I want this blog to look, would probably be its motto—since its two subjects are philosophy and geekdom.

The quote (I don't know where it's from):
Because philosophy arises from awe, a philosopher is bound in his way to be a lover of myths and poetic fables. Poets and philosophers are alike in being big with wonder.

Teehee. Trying to find the source for this brought up, of course, hundreds of quotes sites. One of them credited this to "Sir" Thomas Aquinas.

I'm going to assume they're confusing him with Thomas More, but I believe Aquinas was by right a count. So really the correct style would be "Thomas, Earl d'Aquino"—except that, as a Dominican, he would've renounced the title.
